Is Networking Really Worth It?

LinkedIn is a platform that is highly known for business owners networking to help each other out. Sadly, there is no simple answer to whether or not networking is truly worth it as it depends on you as a person and business. It depends highly upon the type of business you have and how you want to grow it. If you are someone offering a service that will be useful for other business owners, then yes, networking may be handy for you. But if you are someone who is offering a certain customers suitable for everyone, you may want to focus more on advertising what you do than growing your business network.

Networking does come with a range of benefits, especially to those just starting in the business. You are easily able to meet people who are doing something similar to you. You are easily able to discuss with them hints and tips in working in the industry, helping you to kick start your business. You may also meet people who could become friends for life as well as potential customers for you. If you regularly go to networking events and get yourself known for what you do, people will begin to spread your name if you are memorable to them.

On the contrast, networking is not always a benefit for everybody. To be successful in networking you need to be extremely confident in yourself and be able to talk openly about yourself and your business. This can be difficult for some especially if you are a generally shy person. Networking does also take up a lot of time. With some networking events ranging from 1 hour up to all day long. If you do not have the time to spare and have other commitments networking may not work well for you.
